Frequently Asked Questions

What are your normal business hours? Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 5:00, excluding holidays.

What is the best way to contact you? For general questions and answering service for on-call physician, call: (360) 256-2640. For billing questions, call: (360) 828-3203

You can e-mail us with comments or interest in employment opportunities. Do not expect a response earlier than one week. We will not address any personal medical problems or send any medical information via e-mail.

What if I am interested in seeing a cardiologist but have no referral? We do take most self-referred patients. We accept both Medicare and Medicaid. Unfortunately, there are some health plans that simply will not pay us for our services. Please call (360) 256-2640 to initiate the process.

What should I bring with me to my appointment? Your insurance card, containers of all current medications, and any needed co-pay. If this is your first visit, please see comments under New Patients.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment? As a common courtesy to our patients, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible, no later than 24 hours before your scheduled appointment or test.

What if I am experiencing a cardiac problem? If you bare having a cardiac emergency - CALL 911.  For non-emergent cardiac concerns, contact our office during business hours at 360-256-2640 and ask to leave a message for the nurse.  Our clinical team returns patient calls through out the work day.  If you must contact a physician after office hours call 360-256-2640, our answering service will page the physian "on call" to return your call.

What do I do when I need a prescription refilled?  Contact your pharmacy and allow them 48 hours to obtain the refill.  Your pharmacy has all your refill information and will fax the request to our office.  Even if you have used your last refill, your pharmacy will fax a request.  Our clinical staff refill cardiac medications for our patients through out the work day.             Don't wait until the last minute. 

What if I mail away for my prescriptions.?  It is your responsibility to obtain a new written prescription to mail to your pharmacy annually.  Request new written prescriptions at your visit with the physician or contact our office well in advance and leave a detailed voice mail with the refill information.  (Name and strength of medication and directions of how you are currently taking the medication)  Our clinical staff will mail your prescription to you or you may pick it up at our office.  We do not originate faxes to mail away pharmacies.  Don't wait until the last minute.

What if I am changing pharmacies:  Take your prescription bottles to the new pharmacy.  The pharmacy will fax us the new request.  Don't wait until the last minute.

What if I run out of my cardiac medications over the weekend or Holiday?  Contact your pharmacy, they will fax a request to our office and often give you enough medication to get you through until the next business day at which time our clinical staff will refill you prescription.

Do I need a primary care provider? Yes. Our cardiologists do not address general medical or other specialty issues. Even if you have no other medical problems outside of your heart, you need an internist or family practice physician for health screening and as non-cardiac problems arise.

Can I get a flu shot at your office? No. We provide no vaccinations.
